What Teachers Are Saying: Insights from our Annual Educator Survey
-
Over 94% of teachers report that their students are engaged with SITC content
-
96% of teachers report that SITC resources are effective in stimulating critical thinking and fostering classroom discussion
-
This year, our Net Promoter Score (NPS) —a measure based on survey respondents’ likelihood to recommend us—increased from 51 to 54, keeping us in the “amazing” range according to Bain & Company, which considers scores above 50 exceptional.
“SITC is a trusted resource which I recommend to others regularly. The thoughtful, well-balanced content, excellent production, clear explanations, and student friendly approach helps break down student barriers to valuable subject matter..”
Each year, SITC’s video and essay contests challenge students to think critically about economic principles by applying them to real-world issues, not just textbook theories.
81% of participating students reported that completing their contest entry shifted their perspective or gave them a new way of understanding the topic. Enjoy this year’s top video entries:
What Students Are Saying:
-
"I once thought that government filtered censorship was at-least somewhat necessary to maintain stability in a country. Now I see that it is a slippery slope that can be abused by anyone."
-
"My research changed some of my key beliefs. Initially, I thought issues were simply right or wrong, but I learned they have many complex viewpoints. I discovered that people's beliefs are shaped by their context, including culture and personal experiences. This made me more empathetic and open to different perspectives."
-
"This contest allows students to explore viewpoints that are quite different from those taught in schools (I'm in CA). It is nice to see the economic reasoning behind ideas and learn that not all policies that appear to be helping people actually achieve that goal."
